How Long Is the Drive from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains? Most routes take 1.5 to 2 hours each way by road. Our vehicles are air-conditioned and the roads to Imlil and Ourika are paved and well maintained. You won’t need a 4×4 for the standard day trip routes. If you’re tight on time, the Ourika Valley is the closest option – about 1 hour from central Marrakech. If you want higher altitude and longer hikes, Imlil and Mount Toubkal’s foothills are worth the extra 30 minutes. What Does a Full Day in the Atlas Mountains Actually Look Like? Ourika Valley Day Trip Best for: families, first-timers, relaxed travelers The Ourika Valley is the most accessible option – lower altitude, easy walking paths, a river you can paddle in, and the famous Setti Fatma waterfalls at the upper end.
